Guitar fans everywhere, brace yourselves. Two of rock’s greatest strummers recently united to jam on one iconic Black Sabbath classic song. Sir Brian May of Queen and Sabbath’s own Tony Iommi recently recorded a collab on “Paranoid.”
The pair of Hall Of Famers came together on the British series “Greatest Guitar Riffs,” and when Sir Brian asked Iommi where he came up with his riffs, the rocker had an answer. “I think it’s within,” said Iommi. “Normally, we’d jam around and play something and (former Sabbath frontman) Ozzy (Osbourne) would go, ‘What the f**k’s that?’ But it just feels right.”
The duo then began to jam on the classic hit, with May at one point even warning “sacrilege” as he riffed on the riff. The Queen legend then joking assured Iommi that “it’s a good riff, it will go far!”
