What a weekend I had. Hoping yours was awesome. The weekend was filled with a lot of emotion and achievements. My daughter Jasmine, the princess, graduated from Linn Mar and turns out she graduated with Distinction, which 4.0 is pretty damn good considering coming from these genes; our graduation party was packed with great food and we even had a live python snake (daughter is going into Zoology) most of the guests were getting selfies with it. Everyone was having a good time until the rain caused everyone to seek an indoor party, leaving us with so much leftover pasta salad, beans, and pulled pork to feed another 100 people. Funny how the beer was consumed at a much higher rate. My youngest son Jacob had a stellar weekend on the ball diamond in a tournament down in Iowa City. He went 6-8 and pitched awesome leading his team to the championship. Then the Iowa Hawkeyes won their first ever big Ten Baseball Championship by beating Northwestern. My oldest son also informed me that not only did he have a job for the summer, but also has work lined up for the fall as he pursues his choreography career. And the weekend was capped off with an evening of family card games of which I won both and highlighted with my mother's uncontrollable laughter with tears in her eyes, blushing, as she played Cards Against Humanity with all of us. My mother, who is extremely conservative didn't know what the game was going to be. They told her it was like Apples to Apples, just a bit more liberal. OK In my 54 years, I don't think have ever heard my mother utter some of the words she read off the cards she drew. Classic. What a weekend. Not sure how the rest of the summer is going to be quite as exciting.
