Instead of the dust settling after Perry Farrell's physical altercation with Dave Navarro (and possible end to Jane's Addiction), the dust continues to get kicked back up as more information gets revealed about what led to the fight and Farrell's past behavior. in a series of since-deleted tweets, former Porno For Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble let Farrell have it, declaring him "the worst frontman I've ever worked with."
“I can say, unequivocally, that Perry has been the worst frontman I’ve ever worked with,” he wrote in the since-deleted posts (via Consequence). “Always a kind word, followed by s****y actions. The fish rots from the head down. I still don’t understand how he channeled some of those great lyrics & vocals on the first two Jane’s records.”
LeNoble then pointed out other "difficult" singers he's worked with in the past like the late Mark Lanegan, Scott Weiland, and Layne Staley. “All kinder, better, and more talented,” the bassist wrote. “I judge people by their actions… not by their banter about ‘spirituality.'”
“Perry doesn’t show up for rehearsals, sound checks, writing, etc. He jumps in late with s***y lyrics," he added. "Some I had to tell him were terrible. Unprepared, wild eyed, not present, high. Motherf***er does it over and over again.”
LeNoble ended with a hit at Perry's wife Etty Lau Farrell, who's been updating fans about the singer's health through all this. “And Etty is a horrible person. ‘I will sue you…. We have money to burn’ Let’s see where that goes,” he noted before adding: “The worst with the biggest ego.”
LeNoble was the Porno for Pyros' original bassist from 1992-1995. He briefly rejoined the band in 2009 and 2022 but did not partake in the band's "final farewell" tour earlier this year. He ended up deleting the tweets, writing: “There was no need for me to pile it on. I hope PF gets help”
