T-Pain Is Eager To See Backstreet Boys Perform At iHeartRadio Music Awards

Come Thursday (March 14), the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards will bring together stars from all genres like host T-Pain, Kacey Musgraves, and Alicia Keys, but the King Of Auto-Tune has his eyes set on the visual feat that the Backstreet Boys are planning on providing.

"That should be everybody's favorite right now. Just to see them come through and do all the dance moves that were so great and we're used to," he said of his most anticipated performance of the night during a press junket, citing 1997's "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" as his favorite cut from the pop collective. "I think that Backstreet Boys are going to blow our minds."

As the host of the evening, The Masked Singer champ might also come across another pop mega-name as Taylor Swift is scheduled to appear at the show. Back in 2009, the two collaborated on "Thug Story," a 2009 CMT Music Awards skit that parodied the pop star's titular smash, "Love Story," but here's hoping that the two don't experience a similar stage blunder as their past encounter. "I remember I fell into her once," he admitted. "She was in her dressing room and I was going into her dressing room and I didn't know that she was as tall as she is and she had on heels, so I thought there was going to be a step up going into the room. I did the whole imaginary step thing and once I stepped down, I just fell right into her."

In the meantime, the hip-hop staple is focusing on good spirits in preparations for the star-studded affair. "I think preparation comes with just not drinking," he joked. "As long as I'm relaxed before the show, that's it. Feed the room the energy I want back and I'll be good."

For the first time, the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards will air on FOX on Thursday, March 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) as a 2 hour TV broadcast. The show will also be broadcasted as a 2-hour national iHeartRadio broadcast across 150+ iHeartMedia stations as well as on iHeartRadio.com and in the iHeartRadio app. The show will also be streaming live on FoxNow.
