Rosenstein: No Good Cause To Fire Mueller

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein says he has seen "no good cause" to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.  In a House hearing yesterday, Rosenstein said Mueller is conducting himself consistently within the scope of the Russia investigation.  Some Republicans are unhappy about Mueller's handling of the investigation of Russian meddling in last year's presidential election.  New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler asked Rosenstein what he would do if he is ordered to fire Mueller.  He said he would comply if there is good cause and would not act if there is no good cause to force Mueller out. Rosenstein is overseeing the Russia probe because Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself.

Rosenstein appointed Mueller after President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.  At the time he was dismissed, Comey was running the Russia probe.
